This gliding flight was a dream come true for me as I have been wanting to try flying it for over 10 years. The distance from Nephi to the Grand Canyon is 240 miles each way! Crazy to think a glider can fly there and back from Nephi without an engine and only taking a 1600' tow to get started. I am flying an ASW-27B 15 meter sailplane with the wings filled with 300 pounds of water ballast.
